Interesting facts

Zobor, a hill above the town of Nitra, is located in the Zobor Forest Steppe Nature Reserve. Until 1994, a chairlift was run to the top, but its operation was abandoned.

In the 1980s, a steel lattice mast was constructed on Zobor, from which the television signal was distributed. The telecommunications, reinforced concrete tower was completed in 1993 and is one of the most modern of its kind in Slovakia. The antenna itself is 11.5m high and weighs 2.5 tons.
